Medicity’s
innovative EMR Gateway facilitates
clinical information exchange between EMRs and hospital
systems.
It is impossible to gain a complete picture of a
patient’s health without connecting the aggregate
data from both the inpatient and outpatient environments.
The MediTrust EMR Gateway acts as a central hub to
allow the exchange of clinical data to and from:

Advanced internet technologies
drive Medicity’s EMR Gateway
The EMR Gateway pushes the envelope of clinical integration
by employing advanced internet technologies—web
services and web parts:
Web services are software services
designed to manage software calls across a TCP/IP
network. Web services eliminate the need to establish
and maintain cumbersome (and expensive) VPNs or dedicated
lines by using the public network to transmit information
between systems. Medicity’s software library
includes web services for major EMR vendors which
allows us to implement data sharing with an EMR in
days, rather than weeks or months.
Web parts are intelligent, interactive
user interface components that EMR vendors can embed
into their applications to add functionality like
Medicity’s order initiation and order completion
web parts. The embedded parts are adapted to the look
and feel of the host application.

EMR integration
Any organization that has already adopted the MediTrust
DataStage is well positioned to implement the
EMR Gateway.
Medicity worked closely with major EMR software vendors
to develop its EMR Gateway. The results are:
