SALT LAKE CITY, UT, and FRESNO, CA, February 23, 2007—Medicity, Inc., a leading provider of clinical interoperability solutions, with Community Medical Centers (Community), a nonprofit, locally owned health care system that operates four acute-care hospitals and a variety of other health facilities, announced the successful first-phase rollout of its Physician Portal at Community Medical Centers.

“Community’s objective was to provide an intuitive web-based clinical application that would integrate the disparate information from our legacy systems that would be easily accessible through a single sign-on, single user-interface from a physician’s office, home, or the hospital,” says George Vasquez, Community’s Chief Technology Officer. He adds, “We kicked off Medicity’s Physician Portal project with a pilot group of physicians in August of 2006. They provided valuable feedback, and the product was further tailored to our needs. Now we have rolled out our physician portal, and it is available for a larger number of physicians and their office staffs.”

“The rollout of our Physician Portal represents a key enhancement for the medical staffs’ workflow at all Community facilities,” says Dr. Michael Peterson, Community’s Chair of Department of Medicine. “It provides us with the integrated patient information we need in a user-friendly format. Clinical data available in the Physician Portal includes data from our clinical systems, as well as documents and PACS images.”

Medicity has been widely recognized for their software product line which manages the complex issues of clinical data interoperability between legacy systems within a healthcare enterprise and amongst the diverse clinical applications found in the broader community. The complete Medicity product offering includes both software infrastructure and clinical application
