The Company Combines the Best of Two Application Lineages, Giving Clinicians Innovative New Features

Salt Lake City, UT, February 8, 2007—Medicity today announces the newest generation of ProAccess, one of the Industry’s first web-native clinical software applications. The new release brings together the strengths of two product pedigrees: Medicity’s ProAccess and the Park City Solutions’ Provider Portal, acquired by Medicity with Park City Solutions’ iServices Group in early 2006. This 4.0 version release will be called ProAccess PCS, and introduces order initiation capability and expanded patient registration features into the Provider Portal, along with a host of enhanced features. It also provides increased levels of personalization—user-configured appearance and content—and powerful interface innovations to help clinicians view and assimilate the patient information they need.

“ProAccess PCS offers several thoughtful new features that excited even our experienced users,” says Carol Owen, Medicity’s SVP of Product Management, who is responsible for defining and delivering all Medicity products. “We have tested the new ProAccess PCS concepts with physicians for usability, serviceability, and intuitiveness. The results confirm the value of these generational enhancements. ProAccess PCS is a powerful product for physicians and their care teams who require simplified access to aggregated patient data and efficient workflow solutions.”

Among the most impressive enhancements to ProAccess PCS is its “hover over” capability, which allows users to position the cursor over important data, and then, without even a mouse click—view expanded clinical data sets of trended historical information in a transient “elevated” window.

“ProAccess PCS is an important part of Medicity’s comprehensive product vision of clinical systems integration and interoperability,” emphasizes Kipp Lassetter, M.D., Medicity CEO. “We are fast becoming the leading software vendor solving the difficult clinical integration problems faced by large healthcare organizations and communities seeking to improve patient care for their constituents.”

ProAccess PCS is a major component of the entire Medicity product line that manages the complex issues of clinical data integration between legacy systems within a healthcare enterprise and the host of other clinical data sources found in the broader community beyond the enterprise. The complete Medicity product offering includes both infrastructure and application components.

The Medicity MediTrust clinical interoperability platform includes:

  • MediTrust DataStage—a patient-centric data aggregation environment
  • MediTrust Service Broker—clinical information exchange
  • MediTrust CMP3i/EMP3I—community master patient, physician, and payor indexing service
  • MediTrust EMR Gateway—physician office integration services
  • MediTrust RLS (Record Locator Service)—HIE and RHIO Service for locating records in distributed data environments
The Medicity ProAccess clinical application suite includes:
  • ProAccess PCS (Provider Clinical Suite)—inpatient and outpatient provider portal
  • ProAccess OMS (Order Management Suite)—ambulatory computerized physician order entry
  • ProAccess ProScribe—fully integrated ePrescribing application
  • ProAccess CMS (Content Management System)—community, employee and patient portals

During the HIMSS conference in New Orleans from February 26 through March 1, 2007, Medicity will be presenting an overview of the entire product line at the top of every hour at our Booth #3153. Please contact Courtney Lassetter at courtney@medicity.com (or by phone at 801.415.2626) to schedule a private demonstration tailored to your organization’s unique requirements.
