Salt Lake City-based eHealth Company, Medicity Inc.
Taps David Urry for Vice President of Finance Position

Salt Lake City, Utah - With growing interest from the healthcare industry in their unique physician-centric communications work portal, Medicity, Inc., is filling in the ranks of its management team with exceptional talent. Medicity announced today the appointment of a seasoned finance professional, David L. Urry, as Vice President of Finance for the emerging eHealth company.

Urry, who formerly held a director position with American Airlines, Inc., has a proven track record of innovative problem solving and hands-on experience in refining e-commerce and productivity solutions. With over ten years of finance experience and an additional five years as an engineer, Urry is highly qualified for the lead financial role of the Medicity team.

"Medicity's successful business model continues to attract experienced, creative and talented people like David Urry," said James Kipp Lassetter, MD, co-founder and CEO of Medicity. "David's experience with e-commerce and electronic distribution channels will help Medicity to rapidly grow business opportunities to meet the demands of the healthcare industry for new and innovative technology solutions."

Prior to joining Medicity, Urry, a Salt Lake City native, began his career working as an engineer for Gould AMI. Subsequently, he worked for Hewlett Packard in several locations across the United States, as well as a year in Japan. In the five years that he worked for Hewlett Packard, he served in various engineering roles, and eventually held the position of financial analyst for the company.

Following the completion of his graduate work at Wharton, Urry worked his way through the ranks of the American Airlines, to eventually attain a director position where he oversaw a staff of more than 130. Additionally, he evaluated internal and external e-commerce solutions and electronic distribution channels.

Urry graduated from the University of Utah in 1984 with a Bachelor's degree of Science in electrical engineering. In 1990, he completed his Masters of Business Administration in finance and strategic planning at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

"In addition to the company's creative and energetic corporate culture, what brought me to Medicity is the opportunity to contribute to an organization that offers a product which truly addresses a strong need in the area of healthcare information technology," said Urry. "Knowing my next position would be at an Internet-based company, I am excited to work in Salt Lake City, as it is home to a rapidly growing collection of successful Web-based companies."
